UNITHROID® is the FIRST FDA-Approved Levothyroxine Sodium, USP product. In 2000, the FDA granted Jerome Stevens Pharmaceuticals, Inc. an NDA (New Drug Application) for UNITHROID® and established it as the reference drug for hypothyroidism. “JSP” had to submit it’s application under full ICH guidelines, or intensified stability testing. Even with that challenge, UNITHROID® not only met the FDA requirements under the intensive testing, but proved to be among the most stable of all of the levothyroxine products!
In 2004, “JSP” agreed to manufacture UNITHROID® for Lannett Pharmaceuticals and continues that relationship today.
To date, “JSP” has NEVER received a recall or batch failure on UNITHROID®, unlike many of their major competitors.
UNITHROID® is a Levothyroxine Sodium, USP product used to treat hypothyroidism and other thyroid conditions by stabilizing crucial hormones (such as TSH ) that may be effected by thyroid conditions. Thyroid patients may have metabolism complications, mood swings, irritability, and other side effects associated with their condition that UNITHROID® can help regulate!
